Glad to meet you!
My name is Michael Cheng. I am 32 years old. In 2015, I graduated from National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (Taiwan Tech) and majored in Computer Science. I have also studied in the School of Economics and Business Administration at Tallinn University of Technology (Tallinn Tech).
I am currently a software engineer at Google. I work on Pixel software to improve the Pixel experience. Find me on LinkedIn!
I am a passionate programmer and designer at heart. Some specialties include web front / back end and Android development. In 2014, I created Free Pee, an Android app that lets you find free bathrooms nearby. In 2007, I created my own experimental social networking site iQwerty for fun (it's no longer running), and in 2010, I developed a website for the restaurant 茴香盒子 (Finocchio). That platform I engineered was a pioneer in online restaurant reservations and food e-ordering in Taiwan.
I created a GitHub account (on May 24, 2015) and love writing small, useful JavaScript libraries. Check it out!
In my spare time, I enjoy weight lifting, reading, bouldering, listening to music, and playing the piano. I really like my piano. See my music on YouTube!
I own a multitude of old Android devices, with daily drivers including the Pixel 4 XL as well as the Huawei MediaPad M5.
When not in quarantine, I fly around 60k miles a year to see my family in Taiwan.
